Ahrefs
Our primary selection tool. We check DR, organic traffic volume and trend, referring domain count, and anchor distribution. Any donor with zero traffic or a sharp traffic drop in the last 6 months is immediately disqualified.
Majestic
Used as a second verification layer. We look for Trust Flow > 20 and a TF/CF ratio close to 1 — a strong signal of a natural link profile built over time rather than inflated through link schemes.
SEMrush
We verify Authority Score and search visibility history. Consistent keyword growth in top-10 positions confirms an active, healthy donor. We also use SEMrush's Toxicity Score to screen out domains with a toxic backlink history.
Every donor is cross-checked across all three tools. Only sites showing stable metrics in all three databases make it into our placement pool.

Rented links work exactly like rented office space. The moment you stop paying — the landlord changes the locks. Your rankings don't gradually decline. They drop sharply, because Google's index is updated continuously and the link signals disappear almost immediately once the placements are removed.

5 mistakes people make when buying backlinks
After 22 years reviewing link placements, I keep seeing the same errors. Each one either wastes your budget or actively hurts your site. Here's what to avoid.
Choosing donors by DR alone — ignoring traffic and TF
DR (Domain Rating) is the most gamed metric in SEO. A site can reach DR 65 by buying links from PBNs — while having zero real organic traffic. Before you place a link, check: monthly organic traffic (at least 500/mo, stable trend), Majestic Trust Flow (should be above 15), and TF/CF ratio (ideally 0.7–1.3). High CF with low TF = link farm. Walk away.
Using exact-match anchors on every link
If 70% of your backlinks all say "buy cheap SEO links" pointing to the same page, Google's SpamBrain recognizes it as a manipulation pattern within weeks. A natural anchor distribution mixes branded anchors, naked URLs, generic phrases ("read more", "this guide"), and partial-match variations. Reserve exact-match anchors for no more than 10–15% of your profile. I log every anchor we use and flag over-concentration before it becomes a problem.
Buying 50 links all at once — unnatural velocity
A brand-new page that picks up 50 backlinks in a single week is a red flag Google monitors closely. Real editorial coverage grows gradually — a few links this week, more next month as the content spreads. If you're ordering a large batch, stagger delivery over 6–8 weeks. We build this into our campaign delivery by default — not because it costs us more, but because the link velocity pattern directly affects how Google weights the links.
Trusting sites with zero organic traffic
A site with no organic traffic is invisible to Google — which means any link from it is nearly invisible too. Google's crawl budget and PageRank flow follow traffic signals. A blog with 12 visitors a month and DR 50 is almost always a bought DR from a network. Look at the 12-month traffic graph in Ahrefs: you want a stable or growing line, not a flat-line at 0 or a sudden spike that drops off. We reject any donor with under 500 monthly organic visits regardless of DR.
Mixing rented and permanent links without tracking which is which
This one catches people months later. You order links from three different providers, some are monthly rentals, some are permanent. Six months in, rankings drop. You don't know which links are still live, which expired, or which domain got sold and redirected to a spam network. Keep a live link audit spreadsheet and mark every link with its type, provider, cost and expiry date. If you can't check every link in Ahrefs today and know its status — your link strategy has a blind spot.
